Cardinals scheduled to have only primetime game on ESPN+
Michael Chow / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Arizona Cardinals’ only primetime game of the season is not necessarily what you would expect a primetime game to be.

Their Week 7 home matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers is a Monday Night Football game. However, it will be the only Monday Night Football game of the entire season exclusively on ESPN+.

The game’s kickoff is scheduled for Oct. 21 at 6:00 p.m. MST and will not be a standalone game, as the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers game is scheduled to begin the same night at 5:15 p.m. MST on ESPN.

Arizona wasn’t really expecting much in terms of primetime games coming off a 4-13 season, but did bring some new excitement to the Valley by drafting Marvin Harrison Jr. The Cardinals will also have a healthy Kyler Murray to begin the year, as he missed the first nine games last season recovering from a torn ACL.

The last time the Chargers and Cardinals played was on Nov. 27, 2022, as L.A. improved to 11-4 all-time against Arizona with a 25-24 victory. The Chargers won this game with 15 seconds left after a touchdown pass by Justin Herbert to Austin Ekeler (now plays for Commanders) and then a two-point conversion.

How do you feel about the Cardinals getting put into this time slot?
